Fraserburgh has good road infrastructure to Aberdeen (A952 – 40 miles) and the new AWPR provides a strategic connection to the North and South. Airport and rail facilities are based in Aberdeen. Local transportation facilities and customs services are provided as required. Fraserburgh is an ISPS compliant port. Pilotage is compulsory for all commercial vessels of 300 GRT and over or falling within our conditions of pilotage.
Fraserburgh has local stevedores and crane operators offering a 24-hour service equipped with modern cargo handling equipment, common types of cargo handled include barley, oats, fertiliser, coal, sand, road salt, wood fish products and offshore related equipment. Lifts in excess of 200 tonnes and 37.5 metres in length can be accommodated. There is a 50 tonnes capacity weighbridge situated adjacent to the Harbour Office also available.

Pilotage Directions
The harbour’s pilot boat provides pilotage services as well as facilitating crew changes and bay services.
For vessels in port a minimum of two hours’ notice is required for a pilot, for vessels arriving please see our conditions of pilotage. All port movements are controlled from the Marine Watch Tower situated on the West Pier close to the harbour entrance. Vessels entering, leaving or moving within the harbour must report on VHF Channel 12. Port radar is also in operation.
The harbour has easy access and safe berthing for a range of vessels up to and including the port limit of 92 metres with depths of 5.9 m CD at all commercial berths. Larger vessels may be accommodated at the Harbour Masters discretion.
