Fraserburgh Harbour was delighted to welcome the Hebridean Princess into port on 21 July, as we continue to build our reputation in the cruise industry.
Operated by Hebridean Island Cruises, the vessel – famed for its itineraries around Scotland – sailed into a Harbour packed with activity, where fresh fish landings, clam and prawn boats, jack-up barges and offshore wind vessels were all on the go. It’s no exaggeration to say the visitors were blown away by just how much was happening, getting an instant taste of what makes the Broch unique.
As well as heading out and about in the area, including a visit to the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses, guests were treated to a brilliant talk onboard from local expert Billy Watson, who told the story of the town’s history with a focus on our very own “Scottish Samurai”, Thomas Blake Glover.
And of course, we couldn’t let them go without our incredible local seafood getting into the spotlight and G & J Jack Seafoods dropped off some freshly-landed langoustines to a very pleased ship’s head chef.
The final touch: an exchange of plaques between our Harbour Master, Captain Shane Wood and and Hebridean Princess Captain, Chris Sedgwick (pictured).
