Donation to local groups

The film, We Don’t Talk About Love (working title Born to Run] written by local man Scott Graham was recently filmed in and around Fraserburgh. Fraserburgh Harbour Commissioners were pleased to be able to assist by allowing filming to take place within the harbour estate. The Commissioners decided to donate the fee they received for this to three local groups with £500 being donated to each. Fraserburgh Junior Arts society are currently rehearsing for their Summer show “Sister Act” which will run from 19th to 23rd June in the Dalrymple Hall with tickets on sale from 2nd June. This show is in addition to their annual, sell out panto. Broch drama group are also currently rehearsing for their show “Grease” which will be shown from 10th to 15th September at Fraserburgh Academy. Tickets will be on sale at the Super Saturday event in August. One of their young members, Scott Murray, plays “Stevie” in the film. Both of these groups provide a great opportunity for members of the local community with an interest in amateur dramatics, there is a wealth of talent within the town. The final group to receive a cheque is Fraserburgh Fishermens mission which provides a lifeline of welfare and support to fishermen and their families and offers a great service to the fishing community.
